2012 Hazmat Challenge is a SUCCESS!
The
North Carolina Association of Hazardous Materials Responders hosted the 2012 South Atlantic Fire and Rescue Expo's "HAZMAT CHALLENGE" in Raleigh on Saturday August 11, 2012.
This year a "skills based" two part competition approach was utilized where the 4-person teams were required to compete in various scored elements within established time periods.
Part One: Teams were required to strategically analyze a "hazardous materials oriented" IAP and answer specific questions pertaining to research, monitoring, and general hazmat emergency response terminology.
Part Two: Teams were required to properly contain leaks on various highway and rail props.
